Pottery Studio created just for kids or have us come to your class.

Story Book Clay

For Story Book Clay you have the choice of coming to our studio or having us come to you.

We start the creative juices flowing by reading a children's story with many colorful characters, after the story is over the fun begins. It's time to dig in and play in the clay! Children are encouraged to create a character from the book or whatever they choose from the clay that we provide. Once they have created their masterpiece it's time to under glaze or paint their piece.

After two firings which takes about two weeks we return the finished artwork to their rightful owners to take home as a memento of their day.

This is a great activity for preschool - Kindergarten lasting 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the age of your group.

Kids 'N' Clay also offers you an opportunity to take advantage of our Paint-your-own Ceramics studio.

This activity is great for all ages and budgets. You choose from the bisque style that you want from price list provide on back of this sheet. We offer your choice to the kids and they get to paint, paint, and paint!

Once the pieces have been finished our staff clear glazes them and in the kiln it goes. We return the finished works of art in 7-10 days.

OUTREACH

For your school age students let Kids 'N' Clay introduce them to the magical world of clay using hand building techniques used thousands of years ago.

We bring the clay and show how to make a pinch or coil pot. This is just the beginning to the endless creations that can be made. Using objects for texturing and under glaze (paint) to add some color the possibilities are endless.

We take the finished pieces to complete the process. First they are bisque fired. Our staff clear glazes them and in the kiln it goes again for the final step in the process. We return the finished works of art in 7-10 days.

This is a great experience for school age children and up. We schedule this field trip for 1½ hours.

Wheel Time!!
~ Using the Potter's Wheel with Wet Clay ~

IN STUDIO

Bring your class to Kids 'N' Clay and experience using the Potter's Wheel.

Each student receives 2 balls of clay, one to hand build with and one to use to create a bowl on the Potter's Wheel. After both creations have been made, each student gets to under glaze or paint their creations. Each artist ends up with 2 projects.

We take the finished pieces to complete the process. First they are bisque fired. Our staff clear glazes them and in the kiln it goes again for the final step in the process. We return the finished works of art in 7-10 days.
