I started Kids N Clay 18
years ago (in Berkeley, CA) and have been getting so many calls from
around the country asking about a Kids 'N' Clay in their area -
that we decided to fulfill the requests by
teaching others to do what we do here in Berkeley. My mission is to get as many
kids' hands muddy as is possible!! Clay is such a wonderful
medium for children (big kids too!) to express their
creativity.
A
Kids 'N' Clay franchisee doesn't have to know about clay (we
can teach them that part) but they do have to
LOVE working with kids, they must
like being creative ... and have a strong desire to serve their
community. It's a wonderful
life!!

should be a true child advocate. A prior teaching or creative
arts background is a plus BUT NOT
REQUIRED! For our part-time
instructors, we source art students from local colleges as
well as working artists, then train them thoroughly in
the Kids 'N' Clay methods. And, of course, our constant stream of "Possible
Projects" reference materials keeps the "creative juices"
flowing!
One of the other attractive elements of
this business is that it is a destination based business - in other
words, you do NOT have to be located in a
high-rent, retail location. By locating in a light industrial
(or, even suitable live/work) location, you keep overhead low.
It also allows you to situate the business in a location that
provides maximum accessibility to your clients and prospect
base.
The ability to tolerate a flexible teaching
environment is a must. You should also possess strong sales
and customer-service abilities, including management and marketing
skills. We are looking for individuals who are mature and
